Let’s dive into the recent closures of military bases in the U.S., and more importantly, how these changes may ripple through your personal finances. 13 bases have closed, and while that might seem alarming at first, the broader economic implications may not be as dire as many believe. To understand this, we need to look back at the Base Realignment and Closure process, or BRAC for short. This initiative started back in 1988 and has gone through several rounds, the latest being in 2005.
