Morning Work for Autism and Special Education

Teaching Autism

08 October 2019

Today I’m talking all about my routine for morning work for autism and special education students. I’ve been using this routine for a few years now, and it’s always successful with my students. But best of all, it lets us have a positive start to the day – and that sets us up for a much happier day. I’ve always found it very important to ensure that the morning is a consistent and structured approach for students. They may have already had a morning of uncertainty coming into school. Maybe they got stuck in traffic, maybe there were roadworks so they had to go a different way. So you want to try and ensure that you’re providing a consistent morning routine for your students so they know what to expect in the mornings. Today on the podcast I’m talking about; Arrival to School Breakfast Interactive Morning Greeting Morning Work You may also want to head back and listen to last weeks episode, if you haven’t already, where I talk about task boxes. I love to use task boxes as part of my morning work routine. You can listen to it here.
